Lac Director General Host Force Order 20 Advisory Committee Meeting

The Director General of Legal Aid Council (LAC) Mr. Aliyu B. Abubakar on Wednesday the 11th of August, 2021 hosted Force Order 20 Advisory Committee members in its statutory meeting at the LAC conference room.
Mr. Aliyu B. Abubakar who is the co-chairman of the Committee with the Deputy Inspector General of Police Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department welcome all members of the Committee, admonishing them on the need to devise means of moving the committee forward towards ensuring full implementation of the Police Duty Solicitor Scheme (PDSS).


PDSS is a scheme initiated by LAC, Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Open Society Justice Initiatives (OSJI), and Right Enforcement and Public Law Centre (REPLACE) towards providing free legal services to arrested and/or detained persons in all police formations in Nigeria.


Representatives of LAC, OSJI, REPLACE, National Youth Service Corps, National Human Rights Commission, Nigerian Bar Association, National Orientation Agency, Police Service Commission, Rule of Law Advisor to the Vice President, Administration of Criminal Justice Committee and Attorney General of the Federation were in attendance.
