The Director General of Legal Aid Council Mr. Aliyu B. Abubakar has advocated for maximum punishment of persons convicted for the offence of Rape. The Director General opined that considering the spate of rape in our society there is a serious concern when Girls under the age of 7 years are violently molested. He reiterated that persons that commit these types of offences are not fit to live in our society and hence should be kept in Correctional Services custody for life.
