LACON STRENGTHENING TIES IN OSUN STATE.
Legal Aid Council, Osun State Office, paid a visit to the Controller of Corrections,Osun State Command *C.C. TOLU OGUNSAKIN* on 4the April 2024.

During the visit, the LACoN State Coordinator, Mrs Olorunfemi, reiterated that the purpose of the visit was to strengthen the already established cordial working relationship with the Nigerian Corrections in all their respective Centres in the State.

Moreover, the visit was necessary to deepen the synergy between the establishments to enhance access to justice and the smooth running of the novel law.

The State Coordinator who was accompanied by other Legal Aid Officers namely, Mrs Lydia Diyan and Ms Shade Ipede, applauded the efforts of the Nigerian Corrections in the state for the support and cooperation they enjoy in carrying out their statutory responsibilities across the Custodial Centres in the State and emphasised the need for Non-custodial stations in each court to encourage community services for minor offences.

The Controler of Corrections welcomed the LACoN Officers and expressed the appreciation of Nigerian Corrections Osun State for LACoN’s services in giving succour and support to the vulnerable inmates in custody by decongesting its facilities.
