LACON NIGER STATE- Defending the VOICELESS.
On 31/1/2022, Usman Danmusa was discharged of culpable homicide. He was initially charged 10 years ago in 2012 with Culp homicide punishable with death. Trial was stalled and started denovo twice because of the trial judge’s retirement. His co-accused who was the main culprit who incriminated him also escaped from prison during jail break.
Based on this he was granted bail in 2018. The case started denovo before a 3rd Judge in 2021. His charges were reduced to culpable homicide not punishable with death. LACoN in considering a line of defense chose to make a No Case Submission after close of Prosecution’s case.
The submission was upheld and the accused person was discharged.
He’s in the middle flanked by the Prosecuting Counsel and LACoN Niger State Coordinator.
