The Legal Aid Council commissioned first medical center.
The Legal Aid Council just commissioned its very first medical center, courtesy of Director-General Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar Bagudu. During the ceremony, he expressed gratitude to Mrs. Oghenekume Verr, Director of Human Resources Management, for conceptualizing this fantastic initiative.
Bagudu emphasized the importance of staff taking care of their health by utilizing the medical center’s facilities whenever needed. The commissioning event was attended by key management staff, including Prof. Mariam Ibrahim, Head of the SERVICOM Unit, and Barrister Abdulfattai Bakre, Head of Criminal Justice.
This development is particularly significant in Nigeria, where access to justice is often hindered by various factors, including delays, cost of litigation, complex legal rules, and lack of awareness ¹. The Legal Aid Council’s medical center represents a crucial step towards prioritizing the well-being of its staff and potentially enhancing the overall efficiency of the justice system.
