The Finance and Accounts Department has the sole responsibility of providing effective and efficient resources management aimed at achieving the mandate of the Council.

Functions include:

1. Ensure proactive and dynamic accounting system of operations;

2. Maintains and updates relevant books of accounts, records and documentations;

3. Receipt of Federal Government funding and ensures prudent disbursement;

4. Ensures accountability in the receipt and disbursement of Donor Partners Financial and Material supports;

5. Receives all Federal Government statutory allocations and ensures prudent disbursements;

6. Ensures prompt and steady payment of staff salaries and allowances;

7. Accounting for purchases and disposals of assets;

8. Budget preparation, implementation and monitoring;

9. Accounting for stock/stores;

10. Prompt preparation of relevant financial and management reports as well as annual audit statutory audit reports; and

11. Ensure effective and efficient Accounting Management Information System.
