SERVICOM

SERVICOM is an acronym (Service Compact with All Nigerians).

All government Departments are now committed to SERVICOM PRINCIPLES, namely:

  • Affirmation of commitment to the service of Nigerian Nation;
  • Conviction that Nigeria can only realize its full potential if citizens receive prompt and efficient services from service providers (State);
  • Consideration for the needs and rights of all Nigerians to enjoy social and economic advancement; and
  • Dedication to deliver quality services to which all citizens are entitled: in a timely, fair, honest, effective and transparent manner.

 Functions of the Unit include:

  1. To spearhead the Legal Aid Council’s service delivery initiative;
  2. To produce, review and monitor performance of Legal Aid Service Charter;
  3. To manage the Legal Aid Council’s Customer Relations Policy including providing opportunities for customer feedback;
  4. To institute a complaints’ procedure including a Grievance Redress Mechanism for LAC;
  5. To provide a comprehensive and effective training policy for frontline staff on Customer Relations and related matters;
  6. To disseminate best practices and other tips on service delivery improvement;
  7. To serve as the secretariat of LAC’s service delivery; and
  8. To serve as a link between LAC and SERVICOM Presidency.

The above-mentioned functions are carried out by the following:

  • The Nodal Officer who is the Head of the unit and reports directly to the Director General;
  • Charter desk officer;
  • Customer Relations/ Complaint Desk Office;
  • Service Improvement Desk Officer; and
  • Support Staff i.e. Reception, Data Processing Officer and Assistants.
